The observation bay is designated for close monitoring of the following types of patients:
  • Patients undergoing long and complex operation
  • Patients suffering from excessive blood loss during surgery
  • Patients with advanced age who might develop problems after surgery
  • Patients whose clinical conditions need close observation

With a nurse-patient ratio of 1:2, patients admitted to the ward are continuously closely monitored for vital signs, such as blood pressure, pulse rate, oxygen concentration, etc. After 24 to 48 hours, patients are expected to be transferred to the requested wards when clinically stable.
